    When we think of immigration – migrants, diaspora and family – there are always stories of survival, and that survival gets passed down generationally. But the way I see it is in this sense: it’s a different kind of survival. It’s a survivalism that has turned into a beautiful thing. Apple resting on stone looks at market gardens as the nucleuses of community produce, shaping Australia’s landscape and cross-cultural interactions. These co-operative farms, spearheaded by migrants, have provided local communities with fresh food for centuries.
