Kyra Mancktelow’s No Blak in the Union Jack is a powerful critique of colonial legacies, highlighting the erasure of Indigenous identity within national symbols – in this instance, the Union Jack. Using her unique printing method, Kyra’s created layered textures and striking contrasts that challenges the viewer to confront historical injustices and the resilience of First Nations people.

This is the first in a series of flags Kyra will be making, including the Aboriginal flag, and the Australian flag.
