Tom Blake: thoughts are metallic they melt in salt water, Perth Festival
Tom Blake's solo exhibition 'thoughts are metallic they melt in salt water' is part of the Perth Festival 2024 visual arts program.

Tom Blake's solo exhibition 'thoughts are metallic they melt in salt water' is part of the Perth Festival 2024 visual arts program curated by Annika Kristensen, alongside artists including Rirkrit Tiravanija, Rebecca Baumann, Joan Jonas, Helen Johnson and Yhonnie Scarce. Presented in association with Goolugatup Heathcote Gallery, 'thoughts are metallic they melt in salt water' is a rhythmic, reflective exhibition comprising new cyanotypes, paintings, de-silvered mirrors, wire drawings and looping videos. Approaching the gallery space as if it were an eddy within a flowing stream, this body of work evokes themes of opacity, disintegration, touch, reflection and the potential for the chaotic within apparent moments of stillness. The exhibition opens at Goolugatup Heathcote Cultural Centre 6pm 16 February and continues 17 February - 7 April 2024.
