Dylan Mooney series projection for Midsumma Festival

Peel Street Park, Collingwood, Melbourne

This summer Dylan Mooney's series Still Thriving was projected in Peel Street Park, in  Collingwood, every night after dark.

Still Thriving embodies a shift in representation of queer love among people of colour. Created through the use of digital technology, these portraits have been transformed into a moving image reel in collaboration with local Dja Dja Wurrung/Yorta Yorta artist ENOKI.

Midsumma Festival is a celebration of LGBTQIA+ arts and cultures held annually for 22 days over January and February in Melbourne, Australia. The festival began as a one-week celebration of LGBTQIA+ pride in 1989. The festival has since expanded to a three-week event that attracts over 240,000 people each year.
