Zig Zag.

Kate Vassallo is included in Zig Zag, a group exhibition of abstract painting presented by Thor’s Hammer, alongside artists Al Munro, Hannah Beasley and Ham Darroch. The exhibition brings together works that explore geometry as a foundation for abstraction, drawing on the visual language of repeated shapes, patterns and interconnected lines.

Inspired by the zig-zag Warren trusses that span the Mixing Room Gallery, the exhibition considers the relationship between geometric structure and visual form. The trusses’ arrangement of equilateral triangles offers a point of departure for the artists, whose works explore the possibilities of repetition, rhythm and interconnected shapes.

Through her inclusion in Zig Zag, Kate contributes to an exploration of abstraction in which geometry becomes a generative tool for painting. The exhibition highlights the ways artists use colour, line and pattern to create dynamic compositions that balance precision with visual complexity.
