Thea Anamara Perkins: Glimmer: Edwina Corlette Gallery | Brisbane

'This series continues my work with imagery from my archives, my investigation of family history and its impact on identity.'

Glimmer is a term used in psychology to describe something that is the opposite of trigger. It is an instance of safety, tolerance and hope. In times of great turbulence and in the complexities of psyche, I’m interested in those moments that make us feel safe, connected and strong.

This body of work is a continuation of my investigations into colour and the contrast of laying it down flatly against lush strokes.'
