Louise Zhang’s work for the City of Sydney Creative Hoardings Program is currently on view.
The gardens we plant transforms a construction hoarding into a contemplative public artwork. Inspired by market gardens and communal courtyards, the work reflects on the interconnected nature of healing, resilience and care through rich botanical symbolism and mythology.
Plants become enduring symbols of memory, reciprocity and renewal, drawing on ancient medicinal traditions and the quiet strength of cultivated landscapes. Through this expansive installation, Louise invites moments of reflection within the everyday, where growth, connection and cultural memory take root.
