Joan Ross will be featuring in Sydney Contemporary's public art program, presented as part of the fair's landmark 10th edition.
Joan will present three animated works which continue her incisive examination of Australia's colonial histories through satire, vibrant digital imagery and layered visual storytelling. Her works invite audiences to reconsider inherited narratives while reflecting on the enduring impacts of colonisation on landscape, culture and identity.
As part of Sydney Contemporary's expanded public art program this year, Joan's animations contribute to a dynamic presentation of ambitious contemporary works extending beyond Carriageworks and into the city, celebrating the power of contemporary art to engage audiences in public space.
