Current exhibition
  • Overview
And Still I Rise., Art Gallery of New South Wales
Kyra Mancktelow is included in And Still I Rise at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Named after Maya Angelou’s famous collection of poetry, And Still I Rise brings together a group of culturally diverse women artists living in Australia, many of whom are internationally recognised, if less familiar at home.

The exhibition spans generations with artworks  encompassing textiles, painting, metalwork, installation and video – are conceptually challenging, philosophically layered and intricately crafted. Each piece draws on lived experience and inherited memory, offering fresh perspectives on identity, history and belonging.

Drawn from the Art Gallery of New South Wales’ collection and supplemented with new commissions, And Still I Risereaches beyond established narratives to explore a multiplicity of experiences, inviting a reconsideration of contemporary Australian art.
